What is Employee Advocacy?
Whilst employee advocacy can crucially enhance customer advocacy, our employee engagement surveys can be run as stand-alone studies for clients who would like an overview of how their employees are feeling about working in their teams, departments, and organisations
What does Employee Engagement look like?
Engaged employees are highly involved in and enthusiastic about the work that they do and the places where they work. According to the CIPD , employee engagement is characterised by:
- Vigour (energy, resilience and effort)
- Dedication (for example, enthusiasm, inspiration and pride).
- Absorption (concentration and being engrossed in one’s work).
Strategies to improve employee engagement focus on the following:
- Motivation: both the enjoyment of the work itself (intrinsic) and the reward for achieving it (extrinsic).
- Organisational identification: the extent to which the way employees see themselves and their organisations are aligned.
- Organisational commitment: the level of attachment employees have to their organisations and their dedication to their work.
Engaged employees are enthusiastic about doing their jobs, excited about going to work and feel like their days go by quickly. The forge good, supportive working relationships with colleagues and high levels of trust exist between employees and senior management. Employees are provided with opportunities for growth and professional development and as a result, feel empowered and equipped to make decisions. Engaged employees go the extra mile to deliver – customer experience is improved and NPS increases as a result.
Measuring employee engagement is the first step on the path to increasing it. Our employee engagement surveys are tailored to your organisation’s particular challenges and needs, but will typically involve asking employees to rate aspects of their working lives, including:
- Investment in training
- Opportunities for personal and professional development
- Levels of motivation and enthusiasm at work
- Satisfaction with overall compensation
- Relationships with colleagues
- Relationships with managers / supervisors
- Overall likelihood of recommending the organisation as a great place to work
Where data is available, we can also provide industry benchmarks against key metrics to put your organisation’s performance into context.
